Central Directorate

The Central Directorate is the ruling intergalactic government—a powerful oligarchic technocracy composed entirely of Sovereigns. It functions under the guise of democracy, using carefully managed elections and public messaging to maintain the illusion of choice and legitimacy while real control rests in the hands of elite officials, corporate magnates, and hereditary powerhouses.

Operating with a singular goal of control disguised as unity, the Directorate governs all facets of life across the galaxy. It standardizes currency through GalCreds, mandates technological uniformity through the chip system (ICE, ICICLE, and COLD), and enforces strict social stratification through its class-based surveillance and tracking measures.

Its power is enforced by the Galactic Civil Authority (GCA), an elite and brutal police force known for its cruelty, unquestioned loyalty, and capacity for violence. The GCA ensures compliance with Directorate law—whether through fear, manipulation, or force—and often acts without proof, especially in lower-class territories.

To the Directorate, order equals peace—but only when that order is shaped in their image. Their control is justified through slogans and policies meant to instill loyalty and fear in equal measure. Whether regulating interplanetary trade or overseeing the coming-of-age implantation of surveillance chips in children, the Directorate touches every life… and leaves few untouched by its reach.

Its guiding ethos is rooted in the Luminal Creed, where Sovereigns claim divine right to rule—presenting themselves as Luma’s chosen, destined to guide the lesser classes toward “stability” and “progress.” In reality, it’s a calculated manipulation of faith and fear used to maintain dominance over the Gritfolk and Subjugate classes.

Despite whispers of rebellion and the slow unraveling of its illusions, the Central Directorate remains an ever-present force—watching, calculating, and waiting to strike at any sign of unrest.
