Glintfin

The glintfin is a small, schooling fish native to the radiant, tropical waters of Sylkaris. Named for its shimmering, translucent scales, the glintfin appears to glow in low light, reflecting surrounding colors like liquid crystal. When swimming in coordinated groups, their synchronized movements produce dazzling underwater light displays—often mistaken by offworlders for submerged bioluminescent tech.

These gentle fish thrive in warm reef ecosystems, particularly near floating island clusters where they feed on microalgae and light-sensitive plankton. Glintfins are considered both ecologically vital and culturally cherished, symbolizing peace, unity, and cosmic guidance.
