Tucked into one of the poorest, most overlooked Gritfolk territories on Zeyvaris, Vine & Bean is a dimly lit wine and coffee bar that manages to feel like a haven in the midst of hardship. While the walls are cracked and the floors creak, the drinks are hot, the pours are generous, and the company’s just curious enough to keep things interesting.
Known as one of the nicer establishments in the district—though that’s not a high bar—Vine & Bean offers strong brews, locally sourced spirits, and a chance to sit for a while without watching your back too closely. It doesn’t stock the rarest beans or finest vintages, but what it lacks in luxury it makes up for in character.
Briette Nolvareth worked here as a bartender in the years leading up to Ashes of Desire, blending in among the regulars while keeping a careful distance from her past. Her co-bartender, Jaxstyn, was one of the few people she tolerated—and even trusted, in his own gruff way. Together, they kept the drinks flowing and the trouble mostly at bay.
Locals come to Vine & Bean for caffeine, buzz, or just to hear whispers of off-world drama while sipping something warm. It’s not neutral ground by any official means, but for many Gritfolk, it’s the closest thing to peace you’ll find this side of the galaxy.
