Liftcore

A liftcore is a vertically mobile transport capsule used throughout the Galactic Commons for interlevel travel within towers, ships, and arcology structures. Ranging from stripped-down mechanical shafts in Gritfolk zones to seamless anti-grav glass columns in Sovereign high-rises, liftcores are a standard architectural feature in most habitable builds with more than one story.

The term “liftcore” originated from the compact core column at the center of the shaft, which houses the primary propulsion, stabilization, and safety override systems. Unlike old-world elevators, modern liftcores often rely on magnetic ascension rails, pressure mod lifts, or controlled aetherfield manipulation depending on region and class.

Common Features:

  • Voice-activated controls with destination presets
  • Holo-display panels for news, ads, or status reports
  • Aether-brake systems for emergency halts
  • Auto-seal pressurization in ships and space stations
