A capsulebay is a compact, externally accessible compartment on an aethercraft, designed to facilitate secure planetary deliveries and merchant transfers without requiring full dock access or onboard clearance. Commonly used for retail pickups, courier exchanges, and autonomous resupply, capsulebays are standard across most Civica-class and Sovereign-class vessels.
Capsulebays are typically located along the lower hull or side-flank panels of an aethercraft and can be accessed either manually or via NeuroLink integration. Each bay includes:
- Bio-lock security access (NeuroLink authorization or retina scan)
- Anti-tamper shielding with GCA-compliant encryption
- Climate-controlled storage to preserve temperature-sensitive goods
- Modular capsule slots sized for standardized merchant delivery pods
Capsulebays are connected to the aethercraft’s internal cargo management system, allowing deliveries to be transferred into main storage or held for quarantine scans upon departure.
Capsulebays are especially common in open-air markets and floating trade stations (e.g., Veyla’s Reach), where vendors can quickly and securely deliver goods to visiting ships. They allow for non-intrusive exchanges, even when the ship’s crew remains onboard.
